Project City Chase Conley Storyboarding Dynamic Action Sequences

As a director/storyboard artist working in animation for the last ten years, I have exclusively worked on action shows and movies! I’ve worked for almost every major studio, on a multitude of different projects ranging in age and tone. Action storyboarding is a small community of artists, and we all have our specific workflow that helps us maximize the visual impact of our scenes. I would love to show you my techniques!

Week 1 – Thumbnail stage:

We’ll explore ideas quickly, and start to build the skeleton of our scene.

Week 2 – Revise Thumbnails:

After we address notes and edits on your thumbnail drawings, we’ll move onto setting up shots for clean panels.

Week 3-4 – Rough Stage:

These two weeks will be used to finish setting up your shots and address any notes before you begin posing your characters in each shot.

Week 5-6 – Clean Stage:

The final two weeks will be spent drawing any additional poses and finalizing all notes from previous weeks. We’ll add audio and adjust timing on shots so your sequence plays properly!
