Scales are essential to developing and maintaining good violin technique. Without a dedicated scale routine, you may struggle with intonation, find it difficult to play quick passages cleanly, or never feel comfortable with the bow. Violin students often find scales mundane and repetitive, but they don’t have to be!
This course is designed to take you through six months to a year of guided scale exercises with new techniques and unique exercises introduced for every scale. You’ll receive a scale book with major, minor, and pentatonic scales. Directions and play-along tracks for every exercise help you develop intonation and ear training techniques.
You will learn warm-up exercises to help you relax and develop a structured practice routine.
Every scale comes with a printable practice sheet with goals and checklists items to ensure your practice time is efficient. You will learn scale theory so the violin fingerboard makes sense. In addition to learning basic to advanced bow techniques and intonation tips, I’ll show you how to avoid common student errors. Relaxation advice for the left hand, right hand, and whole body will bring your playing to a whole new level.
